Meeting minutes for November 10th, 2003

Present: Kevin Deane-Freeman (President), Jan Erik Laursen (Vice President), Tyler Borges (Social Coordinator), Edmund Gin (Secretary), Cameron Reeves (Paraphenalia), Justin Malcolm.

Apologies: Brent Dozzi (Treasurer)

As a quorum was achieved, the meeting was called to order at 7:05 pm.

1. Executive Reports:
• Secretary
• Date on minutes from last meeting was incorrect - correction to be made on website
• Newsletter - 50+ mailed
• No word on Castle yet
• BDozzi has received $50 in donations as a result of the newsletter article
• Need another 30+ copies of newsletter if possible
• Vice President

  • Pledges made stairs really sticky and stinky
  • Shed is very messy

• Social Coordinator
  • Christmas Social day before next scheduled meeting (cancel/move next meeting?)
  • Execs to help setup/cleanup (show up early)
  • Need Costco card to do shopping for supplies
  • North Shore Crawl coming up soon

2. National Report

3. Mailserver

JMalcolm reported that the mailserver is now working. Nickname, "First.Last", and flast@sigphi.ca forwards to the same address. Webmail option available - can either redirect or receive mail. New Active website is now working. Collaborating with JBreadner to establish database - "Self Update". IMcKechnie to do Active pages, database will automate status. All pages are currently built on sigphi.ca, ported to National site. Mailing list to be ported to sigphi.ca - bad addresses to admin@sigphi.ca. Disk quota system available.

4. VP Nominations

KDeane-Freeman urged people to think about who would be likely candidates for the position, and if any suitable candidates are nominated, it will be decided at the next meeting.

5. Next scheduled meeting

Next meeting tentatively scheduled for Dec 7th before the Christmas Social at SGroves' house.
