Meeting minutes for October 21st, 2002

Present: Kevin Deane-Freeman (President), Jan Erik Laursen (Vice President), Brent Dozzi (Treasurer), Tyler Borges (Social Coordinator), Edmund Gin (Secretary), Chad Brown (House Liaison), Don Nash (Deputy Western Province Councillor for Expansion), Bryce Bendickson, Adam LaRusic.

Apologies: Darren Farnworth (Western Province Councillor).

As a quorum was achieved, the meeting was called to order at 7:07pm.

1. Executive Reports:
• Vice-President
• Nothing to report.
• Social Coordinator
  • Pub Crawl on Sept 14th was a great success
  • Submitted his newsletter article
  • Disappointed with Alumni turnout at Animal House
  • Looking for venue for Christmas Social - if no word within 2 weeks, then KDeane-Freeman will be hosting it.
  • Will put out request via e-mail.

  • Nothing to report.

  • Ballots submitted, results to come.

  • Newsletter taken over by EGin due to illness

• Treasurer
  • 3rd son born Aug 31/02, 9 lbs 9 oz.
  • Approx $600 in operating a/c ($597.79)
  • House a/c at $0 (paid taxes and insurance for the year)
  • Maintenance fund at approx $4700
  • Market value of ethical fund as at March at around $13000
  • Holding off on further investing pending contacting Art Rennison for recommendations
  • KDeane-Freeman requested Financial Report for newsletter

2. Newsletter

EGin reported that he was hoping to finalize the draft this weekend, have it proofread and out by Monday Oct 28th. BDozzi to give background on ethical fund and ask for advice. No article from WPC DFarnworth yet.

3. Christmas Social

TBorges asked about budgets for Christmas Social (ie. food, beverage, sundries). BDozzi suggested total of approx $600, might be more because of low alcohol supply.
