Meeting minutes for August 12, 2002

Location: Elephant and Castle, BCIT, Burnaby

Present: Kevin Deane-Freeman (President), Jan Erik Laursen (Vice President), Tyler Borges (Social Coordinator), Brent Dozzi (Business Manager), Edmund Gin (Secretary), Chad Brown (House Liaison), Peter Celler, Bryce Bendickson, Adam LaRusic, Heiko Epkens.

Late: Chris Baker

As a quorum was achieved, the meeting was called to order at 7:01pm.

  1. Executive Reports:
  2. North Shore Crawl
  3. TBorges finalized date for Sept 14th - an e-mail with details to be sent out shortly. There will be 13 stops, starting at 11:00am at the Troller in Horseshoe Bay, and ending whenever the staff at the Raven in Deep Cove kicks us out. JMalcolm has offered his place for people to stay at after the Raven. TBorges to look at a possibility of a bus vs. Actives driving.

  4. Newsletter
  5. KDeane-Freeman requested spews - hoping to get newsletter out in September. TBorges asked if there was a possibility that the publishing date could be held until after the Crawl. Response was affirmative. JBreadner was first to provide an article.

  7. JBreadner, although unable to attend the meeting, provided the following report via e-mail:

  8. October/November Meetings
  9. It was noted by EGin that the second Monday of both October and November are statutory holidays, and may pose a problem for the meeting. By general concensus, the meeting day for these two months have been moved to the third Monday of the month.

  10. PCeller's Going Away Party
  11. PCeller announced that since he was going to Germany for a couple of years to pursue a Master's Degree, he planned to have a party sometime early September, since his flight leaves September 11th. He was planning for September 7th. ALaRusic suggested the Atlantic Trap and Gill, since his band (Skystone) was playing there that night. Details to follow via e-mail.

  12. CBrown's BBQ at the House
  13. CBrown recently went fishing, and brought back a big salmon, and was planning on throwing a BBQ party at the House. Potluck dinner - details to follow via e-mail. Aiming for August 16th.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:40pm.
