Meeting minutes for July 14, 2003

Present: Kevin Deane-Freeman (President), Jan Erik Laursen (Vice President), Tyler Borges (Social Coordinator), Edmund Gin (Secretary), Shaun Hodgins (House Liaison), Ron Byrne, Bryce Bendickson.

Apologies: Darren Farnworth (Western Province Councillor), Brent Dozzi (Business Manager)

Late/Absent: Maciej Zielinski (absent).

As a quorum was achieved, the meeting was called to order at 7:02pm.

1. Executive Reports:
• Secretary
  • Quarterly report received from Executive Director Bob Featheringham
  • Beta Gamma Chapter Charterred at Lamar University, Texas
  • Rumour has it that Eta is on probation. Details sketchy at this time.

• House Liaison
• Computer exploded, although nothing important has been completely lost
• Currently have 6 residents (3 non-Frat)
• Minimum 5 guys in the House in September
• Social Coordinator
  • Pub Crawl August 9th
  • Map/route info to come (will be e-mailed to EGin and posted on Alumni website)
  • Christmas Party coming up quick, probably at Grover's

  • Nothing to report.

  • Welcome to our new meeting location!

2. National Report (Proxy)

On behalf of National, EGin encouraged members to run for National positions.

No report available.

4. Newsletter

Officer reports needed by August meeting. Pushing for September publication date.

5. Convention

JELaursen reported that all forms associated with Convention are filled and filed. Also needed to know how many people were planning on going. Van rental details are being sorted out, perhaps require a car if not enough people going. BCAA will probably give insurance for less, will look into it. Reimbursement policy from National not enough to cover costs - will be brought up at Convention.

Be it resolved that: the meeting location be changed to Champs in Burnaby until further notice.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:30pm.
