Meeting minutes for July 8, 2002

Present: Kevin Deane-Freeman (President), Jan Erik Laursen (Vice President), Tyler Borges (Social Coordinator), Edmund Gin (Secretary).

Late: Justin Malcolm

Apologies: Darren Farnworth (Western Province Councillor), Chad Brown (House Liaison)

Absent: Brent Dozzi (Business Manager)

As a quorum was achieved, the meeting was called to order at 7:25pm.

1. Executive Reports:
• Vice President
• Beer chilling in the sun; drink beer.
• Nothing to report
• Social Coordinator
  • Still need to find a place for the Christmas Social (J Breadner unable to host)
  • Possibly K Deane-Freeman? Work in progress to find a host.
  • Pub Crawl report to follow on the Agenda

  • Heard from National Treasurer that dues were received

  • S Masse called to say House Taxes paid into a/c
  • House-warming this weekend.
2. Permanent e-mail Project

JMalcolm was happy to report that sigphi.ca is now purchased by him, registered with DynDNS. He mentioned that all that is now required is a Pentium 100 computer to set up the server. K Deane-Freeman mentioned he had a computer available for use. Just a matter of time before services are available.

3. Newsletter

K Deane-Freeman announced that he would like to get a newsletter out for August/September, and requested spews for it.

4. Pub Crawl Status
• J Malcolm agreed to T Borges' request for Sept 14th.
• September 14th it is. T Borges to finalize details and prepare e-mail.
