Meeting minutes for April 14, 2003

Present: Kevin Deane-Freeman (President), Jan Erik Laursen (Vice President), Brent Dozzi (Business Manager), Tyler Borges (Social Coordinator), Edmund Gin (Secretary), Bryce Bendickson, Justin Malcolm.

Apologies: Darren Farnworth (Western Province Councillor), Shaun Hodgins (House Liaison)

As a quorum was achieved, the meeting was called to order at 7:01pm.

1. Executive Reports:
• Social Coordinator
  • Pub Crawl date changed due to Convention
  • Need to reconfirm date with JMalcolm
  • Christmas Social host - Brother Scott Groves has offered to host.

• Vice President
• Nothing to report.
• Secretary
  • Apologies for missing AGM due to emergency at home
  • Received Letters of Credential from National
  • Waiting for Spring Castle
  • Office of Alumni Chapter now at the House until further notice.

• President
  • Housewarming was ok. Otherwise, nothing to report.

• Business Manager
  • Tabled until later

2. AGM Wrap-up

KDF noted that there were no changes in executive other than House Liaison. Once again, the House Manager liaises with himself.

3. Meeting Location

Contract between E&C and BCIT is about to expire. We'll need to relocate our meetings.

4. Executive Reports (Part 2):
• Treasurer
• Sum of all account balances is at around $2645.00 as at Feb/03 - no statement available for March yet.
• Operating account is at $437.93
• House account is at ($2592.00) due to taxes paid by Chapter but rent not rec'd from Actives
• Building maintenance account is at $4799.27
• Ethical fund is at $13165.59 (as at when?)
• BDozzi to collect property taxes and garbage collection fee from House, and to submit Provincial Gov'ts annual Societies report.
5. Convention

EGin forwarded electronic versions of Letters of Credentials to JEL, and will forward copies of past reports to JEL.

6. Annual Pub Crawl

Tentatively set for Aug 9th.

7. Motions

   Whereas: At least one motion should be pass

   Furthermore whereas: This is a motion

   Be it resolved that: The Alumni Chapter meetings be held on the 2nd Monday of each month at the residence of Kevin "Fishbone" Deane-Freeman until further notice as long as Fish moves to the NBI (North Burnaby Inn)*

   Afterward: We will be waiting.

   * That would be the peeler pub on Hastings in Burnaby.

   There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:11pm.
